Highlighting the central position that speed occupies in our lives and our culture, this catalogue brings together many of the twentieth century's most visionary artists, from Boccioni to Hapaska, Sickert to Hamilton, each reflecting our modern obsession with time and movement. Originally conceived by Jeremy Millar and Michiel Schwarz, Speed was realised as a collaborative project between four different organisations: The Photographers' Gallery, London, The Netherlands Design Institute, Amsterdam; The MacDonald Stewart Art Centre, Guelph, Ontario and the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London.
