Zwischen 1941 und 1945 wurden im Rahmen des Euthanasieprogramms der Nationalsozialisten vermeintlich geistig Behinderte und psychisch Kranke in mehreren dafür eigens eingerichteten Tötungsanstalten ermordet. Die Opfer waren Menschen mit angeborener Behinderung, oder sie litten an Depressionen, Front- oder Bombentraumata oder anderen Erkrankungen. Die größte dieser Anstalten lag im hessischen Hadamar. Das multimediale Kunstprojekt "Stille / Silence" der jungen Fotokünstlerin Birthe Klementowski thematisiert dieses Verbrechen in Klang und Bild. Die kühlen, sorgsam komponierten Schwarzweißfotos dokumentieren, was heute noch von der Tötungsanstalt zu sehen ist. Kurze Kommentare in Deutsch und Englisch erläutern die Motive. Die CD enthält eine Komposition, deren minimalistische, elektroakustische Klänge das Visuelle begleiten. Das von dem Kulturwissenschaftler Dr. Marcus Stiglegger (Universität Siegen) herausgegebene Buch dokumentiert dieses Kunstprojekt und ergänzt das Material mit einem Interview und einem Vorwort des Leiters der Gedenkstätte Hadamar, Dr. Georg Lilienthal.
