This exhibition catalog provides a new perspective from which to appreciate Bunny Mellon's extensive collection and appreciation of botanical art. Renowned as art collectors, Paul and Bunny Mellon were among the most generous donors to the National Gallery of Art. They contributed to the Gallery more than 1,000 carefully selected, distinguished works of art—primarily French and American paintings and drawings—originally acquired for their private enjoyment, but always with the intention that they would one day be shared with the American public."--
