He's well dressed and drives a 'flash' car on his return, but misunderstands a kiss he sees between his wife and a neighbour - so, commits the rape. Five hears on, and he's a big time Hollywood Director now and comes back to claim Eloise....but their tumultuous past keeps her from trusting him.
