Description
Irish Educational Documents Volumes 1, 2 and 3 are now available in digitised form. This three volume collection of extracts from official documents relating to Irish Education was published in print form by the Church of Ireland College of Education, Dublin, Ireland between 1987 and 1994. The overall editors of the series were Áine Hyland and Kenneth Milne with editorial support from Gordon Byrne and John Dallat. The digitised version of Irish Educational Documents Volumes 1, 2 and 3 was funded by a grant from SCoTENS (The Standing Committee on Teacher Education in Ireland North and South). The editors are very grateful to SCoTENS for their support and help. The digitised publication is now available to all interested scholars and students on a Creative Commons basis and a disc containing the three volumes will be made available on request by the Irish National Academy for the Integration of Research and Teaching and Learning, Distillery House, North Mall, Cork, Ireland . The digitisation has been authorised by the Church of Ireland College of Education, Rathmines, Dublin - the publishers of the print version of the Documents - with the agreement of the editors and authors. The three volumes consist of extracts, with commentary, from official documents relating to Irish education from earliest times until 1990. Volume 1 consists of documents relating to education on the island of Ireland from earliest times to 1921. Volume 2 covers education in the south from 1922 to 1990 and Volume 3 covers education in the north for the same period.
