Mit zahlreichen Abbildungen und Reisebeschreibungen zeichnet dieser Katalog den Weg nach, der den weitgereisten Künstler von europäischem Rang nach Kiel führt, wo er 35 Jahre lang - bis zu seinem Tod - das Kieler Kunst- und Kulturleben mitgestalten soll.
