Description
Data Processing Documentation Standards --------------------------------------- Documentation is an essential part of designing, developing, using and maintaining computer systems and programs. It provides a means of communication — for technical staff, for managers and supervisors and for those involved in the application of systems. Good documentation depends on the availability and use of comprehensive and proven standards. This manual is the natural successor to NCC's highly-praised *Systems and Programming Documentation Manuals*. It brings together previous material and additions required to meet rechnological and organisational evolution. It is a work of reference, designed to be used either as a complete manual or as the basis for local adaptation and extension to meet exceptional needs. It is generaliseed, and therefore free from constraints imposed by type of hardware, programming language, application or organisation structure. *Data Processing Documentation Standards* has been compiled by leading experts, using contributions from the very wide range of users of NCC Standards, and incorporating the latest international proposals.
